But Abram said to the king of Sodom,”I have lifted my hand to the LORD, God most High, Possesor of heaven and earth Genesis 14:22
God is the Possessor of heaven. He controls every resource in this world. He is Jehovah Jireh. I remember when I was getting ready to quit my job at Guardian in 2013. I was scared and not sure of what the future held. I had heard God tell me that I needed to be home with my 5 daughters, that I needed to be the one who was home showing them how to be women who loved God. Corey and I were at Baxter Road Bible Church at that time, and we were going in to the young adult study Refocus that we led. Our friend Jeanette had brought her missionary friends from Kentucky to visit the group and share testimonies of what God had done in their lives. After we met and prayed as a group and I shared what God had been doing in my life, Judy pulled me aside. She told me that I would never look back, that God would provide more than I could ever hope and imagine. She was the confirming voice that let me know that I was doing the right thing. She told me that God was the one who controlled all the resources of the world. She asked me,” Do you believe that God is in control? Do you trust him? Then go forward with what you believe, and don’t look back.”
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62
Had I not moved out into the unknown I would have not been able to experience the blessings that God had for me. He is the possessor of heaven. He has blessed me beyond what I could have ever dreamed or imagined. God used Judy Jacobs to speak his truths into my life.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; Psalm 24:1
To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. Deuteronomy 10:14
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:31-34
No matter what happens. I am here to tell you, that you don’t need to worry. God is in control. He says to SEEK HIS KINGDOM FIRST, and he will provide all that we need. Don’t seek the world, don’t seek the money, don’t seek the jobs, the food, the shelter. Put GOD first and He will provide ALL that you need. This has been true in my life and I promise you if you let God reorder the desires of your heart, and you put Him in the place of everything else that you think you Need; He will satisfy your soul. You will find True Joy. <3 Seek Him First!
